2026 Works Council (CSE) elections

On September 23–24, vote Solidaires!

Since its inception, Solidaires Informatique champions environmentalist, feminist, pro-LGBTI+, antiracist, antifascist values as well as its principled independence from executive leadership.

Why vote Solidaires?

Since its creation in 2024, our union section has been regularly publishing the Pirate Letter, organizing lunches and afterwork events, and conducting surveys to relay Back Makers’ voices on the Office Policy, compensation, or AI. We’ve set up mutual help groups for dev plans or BSPCE sales tax return.

All without being allowed to communicate via Slack.

Voting for our union list is entrusting a collective of Back Makers eager to represent you, by giving them the resources to build up bargaining power and weigh in on collective negociations. With that, we can protect you and defend your rights, your working conditions, and the values that Back Market and the union share.

Defending the CSE’s independance

Our engagement is based on a simple belief: an effective CSE is one that is independent and attentive to all those it represents, because its responsibilities are not merely symbolic. By organizing social and cultural activities, it enables everyone to thrive. By holding our employer accountable, it ensures safe working conditions and the health of every Back Maker. By engaging in official dialogue with management, it transforms your individual challenges and aspirations into collective demands… All of these issues require true independence from company management. This is what we advocate for.

Here for you

Beyond our proposals, our commitment is simple: being reachable and accessible for each of your questions, issues, or feedback. We are here for you Back Makers, to make your voice heard and continously improve working conditions. We want Back Market’s values of humanity and solidarity to be translated into action in our collective decisions.

Our priorities for this term

Our priorities share a common goal that must stays the basis of the company: reduce psychosocial risks and the environmental impact of work organization at Back Market. Collective well-being and ecology are not values that can be declared, but material realities addressed by ambitious and concrete company policies.

🤖 Regulated use of artifical intelligence

AI must stay a tool at the service of the teams, not a constraint mandated without training or critical perspective, or a productivity silver bullet that no one is able to really assess. We demand for everyone be able to refuse to use it without weighing negatively on their performance review, and that solid training be available to all workers. We further demand that its environmental and social cost —often silenced (energy, servers, storage ; isolation, lack of reflection)— be included in decision criteria alongside its claimed benefits, which are yet to be proven transparently and quantitatively.

🚦 Having a say on Dev Plans

In light of the recent growing Dev Plans increase, that are often launched with blurry objectives and poor support, sometimes as a preliminary step for being fired, we want the CSE to be able to examinate their process, and that impacted employees are accompanied by the union during the process, starting from when objectives are set up. In doing so, we aim to protect the mental health of affected employees, who sometimes experience psychological distress and a sense of abandonment.

🌐 A more sustainable and flexible Office and Travel Policy

How work is organized also has a direct climate impact. We aim to continue the Office Policy relaxation that the previous CSE started: automatic lift during summer and end of the year holidays, adaptibility for Back Makers whose personal situation makes it difficult to respect it. Additionally, remote work is a widely documented lever for decarbonation, similarly to using night trains between offices with compensatory rest, or limiting business flights when rail alternatives exist. We want those levers to finally be taken seriously. According to ADEME, one day of remote work per week avoids about 271kg of CO₂ per employee per year. Scaling that to our 700 Back Makers, going from 3 days to 2 days of working at the office could avoid an additional 190 tonnes of CO₂ per year, equivalent to nearly 150 round trips between Paris and New York!

💰 True compensation transparency

We demand legible and transparent wage grids, by giving access to mean compensations based on job category and level, so that everyone can find where they are. We call for management to anticipate the (late) transposition into French law of the european directive on compensation transparency from May 2023.

🤝 Actual gender equality

Beyond well-meaning words, wage disparities persist between men and women, who are also underrepresented in management, beside exco. To guarantee acceptable working conditions for all, we aim to secure the grant of a menstrual leave for our colleagues who need it, without intrusive paperwork or repurposing of flexidays.

🚩 A need for Vigilance regarding subcontracting

Essential positions filled year-round by external contractors could often be, in reality, disguised salaried employment. We oppose this trend, as it fragments the workforce and diminishes the rights of the individuals in these roles.

🔎 Independant inspections

With a unionized list gathering enough elected members, we want to initiate the independant inspections that the law allows, to ensure that the company complies with its obligations regarding workload, psychosocial risks prevention, and work life quality.

How to support us? How to vote for us?

CSE elections are taking place on the Neovote platform between Wednesday, September 23, 8am, and Thursday, September 24, 5:30pm.

Don’t hesitate to mention the elections to your colleagues at the coffee machine. Not everybody is aware of the elections.
